FSW ENGINEERING
WORKING TOGETHER
Welcome to our website! Here you will find all sorts of information about the history of engineering, the various fields of engineering and a brief overview of the statistical profile of engineering.
We also go on to discuss some of the future challenges that we face in the engineering profession.
FUTURE CHALLENGES
Merriam Webster defines engineering as “The application of science and mathematics by which theproperties of matter and the sources of energy in nature are made useful to people.” This definitionrepresents defines all the disciplines of engineering regardless of the time period it occurs. “Engineeringhas a significant impact on our planet and our lifestyle.” says the Dean of Stanford University Persis
Drell. Which is completely true engineering has a huge impact on society as society does on engineering.
I . Future of Engineering Globally
The National Academy of Engineering believes “In 2020, technological advances will
continue to occur; the world will be interconnected through these futuristic technology advances. The future of engineering will to continue these innovations through technology. The factors that affect the future of engineering are: social, cultural, political, and economic forces will.
Engineering innovation will help drive society’s economic growth, and create remarkable
opportunities that will continue to propel new innovations (ideas) in nanotechnology, logistics, biotechnology, and high-performance computing.”
II. Future challenges of Engineering
The first challenges engineering faces as the technology continues to advances is better education and development for engineering students. Engineering universities should better prepare their student with skills set such as: strong analytical skills, the practice of ingenuity, creativity, good communication skills, business and management knowledge, leadership, high ethical standards, professionalism, dynamism, agility, resilience, flexibility, and the pursuit of life long learning. Essential skills needed to forward the progression of innovation lead by engineers.

Make Solar Energy Economical
Solar energy provides a chance to break away from nonrenewable resource and especially
since less than 1% of solar energy is used.

Engineer Better Medicines
Engineering can assist in the development of new systems to simplify obtaining genetic
information, detect changes throughout the human body, test new drugs in a safer/environmentally friendly

Advance Health Informatics
As computers have become available for all aspects of human endeavors, approach to
health informatics. To be specified per individual.

Enhance Virtual Reality
Virtual reality is on a rising in currently through oculus or samsung gear vr. Virtual
Reality is powerful new tool for educational and entertainment purposes.

Restore and Improve Urban Infrastructure
Infrastructure is the combination of fundamental systems that support a community, region, or country. Society faces the formidable challenge of modernizing the fundamental structures that will support our civilization in centuries ahead.

Secure Cyberspace
Computer systems are involved in the management of almost all areas of our lives; from electronic communications, and data systems, to controlling traffic lights to routing airplanes.

Prevent Nuclear Terror
The need for technologies to prevent and respond to a nuclear attack is growing.

Manage the Nitrogen Cycle
Engineers can help restore balance to the nitrogen cycle with better fertilization
technologies and by capturing and recycling waste.

Develop Carbon Sequestration Methods
Engineers are working on ways to capture and store excess carbon dioxide to prevent
global warming.
